Downhill mountain biking can sound intimidating if you have never done it before, but Faull Line Gravity Park was built with first-timers and families in mind, not just experienced riders. Here is what to know before your first visit.

Start With the Green Trails

Faull Line organizes its terrain into three tiers, and the Green, or Beginner Flow, trails are designed specifically for first-time gravity riders and families. Expect smooth, rolling terrain rather than steep or technical features, so you can get comfortable with the basics of downhill riding, braking, and body positioning before working up to anything faster. When you are ready for more, the Blue (Intermediate Flow) and Black (Advanced Terrain) tiers are there to progress into. You can see the full breakdown on the trail difficulty guide.

The Shuttle Does the Climbing for You

One of the biggest advantages for beginners is that you never have to climb. A shuttle vehicle takes you and your bike to the top of the trail, so your energy goes entirely into riding down, not pedaling up. That makes it much easier to build confidence over several runs in a day without wearing yourself out on the climb.

Who Can Ride

Riders must be 12 or older. Riders under 18 need a parent or legal guardian to sign their waiver, and every rider completes a digital liability waiver as part of checking out for their pass.

What Gear You Need

Required gear is simple: an approved bicycle helmet, worn at all times on the trails, and closed-toe shoes with secure footing. Recommended gear for extra protection includes:

  • Knee pads and elbow pads
  • Full-finger riding gloves
  • Eye protection, such as sunglasses or goggles
  • A full-face helmet, especially for intermediate or advanced riders
  • Sturdy mountain bike shoes with good traction

Full details are on the FAQ page.

A Day That Does Not Feel Crowded

Faull Line caps each day at 20 riders total, which keeps wait times short and the trails from feeling crowded, a real benefit if you are still building confidence and do not want to feel rushed. Because spots are limited, booking your pass in advance is a good idea, especially on weekends.

Plan Your First Visit

The park is open Friday through Monday, 10:00 AM to 3:00 PM, with the last shuttle at 2:30 PM, and it sits about 35 to 40 minutes from downtown Boise in Horseshoe Bend, Idaho. Bring your own bike, water, and snacks, since on-site rentals and food service are not available yet. When you are ready, you can book your all-day pass online or reach out through the contact page with any questions before you go.
